Bear
Butte State Park: "Mato Paha" or
"Sleeping Bear Mountain" is a geologic wonder.
It is also a gold rush landmark and Holy
Mountain to the Sioux and Cheyenne Indians who
continue to make pilgrimages here. This State
Park offers hiking trails to the top where you
have an awesome view!
Bethlehem Cave:
At Bethlehem Cave you can choose from many
activities including cave and canyon tours,
horseback riding, rock climbing school, and ATV
trail rides.
Black Hills National
Cemetery: This National Cemetery was
dedicated in 1948 to provide a final
resting-place for the veterans of our nation's
war.

Boulder Canyon Country Club: The
semi-private golf club offers a beautiful
setting and a challenging nine-hole course.
There's also a restaurant.
Fort Meade Museum
and Cemetery: This fort was
established in 1878 to maintain peace on the
western Dakota frontier. The museum is a great
reminder of our heritage.
Poker Alice House:
This historic 1895 home is full of history!
Tour the home, stay in the home, or use it for
group meetings and reunions.
Sturgis Motorcycle
Museum & Hall of Fame: This house's
rare and unique American, European and Asian
motorcycles, and scooters from the early 1900's
through modern day.

Mickelson Bike Trail: Located near
Deadwood, but only 20 minutes from us. Bring
your bike and enjoy the trails of the Black

Wonderland Cave:
Above the surface at Wonderland Cave you stand
on what 300 million years ago was the floor of a
vast ocean full of fish! See the beauty that
volcanic action has heaved upward through the
earth.
Vanocker Canyon:
Only 10 blocks from the motel on Forest Service
Road #170. You will find a picturesque
landscaping and scenery by mother nature. Bring
your camera!

The Surrounding Area: The Black
Hills has so many recreational activities that
it is impossible to name them all. Sturgis is
20 miles from Deadwood, Spearfish and Rapid City
where one can find gambling, shopping malls,
theatres, fine dining, outdoor activities, Mount
Rushmore and more!
In addition to these great sites, our
community boasts several events through the
tourist season, as do other communities. Some
of Sturgis' summer events include: Rodeos, Ft.
Meade Cavalry Days, Antique Tractor Pull, 4th of
July Celebration, Summer Fest, Demolition Derby,
the famous Sturgis Bike Rally, Threshing Bee,
4-H Fair, Highland Festival & Scottish Games,
Sheepdog Finals, and more.
